Invited Guests:

The Bridgestone 4x4 Club Challenge is a closed event and no spectators or the public may attend.
No exceptions to this rule will be made!

A total of ten participants per club will be permitted including the six members that have already qualified.
The extra four members should consist of the clubs Chairpersons and or a member to assist with track set-up.

Due to the nature of the final challenge, only the Driver and co driver will participate in the activities and no further acquaintances or associates will be permitted in the vehicle or at the facilities.

Venue:

We are excited to advise that the Leeuwenkloof facility near Hartebeespoort /Brits will be used for catering and accommodation.
Please find attached the map to find the facility.

Camping will be the accommodation for all that attend the finals for Saturday evening, cost has been covered by Bridgestone. Please bring all camping equipment and items of personal nature.

Note:
If camping is not your cup of tea, there are several spectacular venues around the dam to accommodate your requirements at your own cost.

Catering:

Saturday evening:
 Bridgestone will cater all starches and salads for all invited guests however, please supply your own meats.
Several Braai facilities are on the venue with fire wood and grills being provided.
 Full cash bar will be available.

Sunday:
 Full Breakfast will be provided for all participants.
 Boerewors roll and cold drinks will be provided for lunch.
 Dinner will be a fully catered for the prize giving at Leeuwenkloof.
 Full cash bar will be available.

Club Requirements

• Clubs will be required to set-up the obstacle allocated by Bridgestone.
• Bridgestone will supply ten droppers, white poles and a dropper tool to assist with the set-up.
• We recommend to bring extra equipment to assist you with the obstacle “making” such as tape, cones, spade, tennis balls, blind folds and etc (whatever you think could be used).
• Four club flags or banners.
• Club decals will be a requirement for the vehicle doors, all decals to be handed to Daniel Barbosa before start of event.
• Club decals not to exceed 300mm X 300mm!
• Clubs to finalize the club ‘’Captain” before the event.
• Please find attached the club rules as discussed at the start of the Bridgestone 4x4 Club Challenge 2013 season.
• Club Chairman to communicate this email to the top three Club Challenge winners ASAP!


Brief Schedule

Saturday;

12H00 - Arrival Leeuwenkloof farm.
12H20 - Sign in and camp set-up.
13H00 - Departure to Andries Pretorius farm.
13H30 - Club obstacle set-up.
16H00 - Return to Leeuwenkloof Farm.
16H30 - Vehicle scrutineering (Bridgestone Rules).
18H00 - Supper.

Sunday;

06H00 – Breakfast at Leeuwenkloof Facility.
06H30 - Departure to Andries Pretorius farm.
07H00 - Start of Bridgestone 4x4 Club Challenge Finals.
16H00 - Depart back to Leeuwenkloof farm.
17H00 - Final prize giving and supper served at Leeuwenkloof.

I am also waiting for results from Sunday!

What I do know is that Bridgestone leveled the playing field for the final. When our team arrived at Gerotek on Saturday afternoon (to prepare our obstacle for Sunday), we were informed by Daniel Barbosa that none of the vehicles we came with would be allowed in the competition. He had arranged the same vehicles for each & every obstacle so that the drivers did not have the advantage of driving a vehicle they had modified and/or knew. :biggrin: :clap: :doh:

Our obstacle was to be driven by a Navara, so I presume the other obstacles may also have had a vehicle from "their" manufacturer? What was done with the vendor agnostic teams (such as 4x4 Community, 4x4 ATV, etc.) I do not know...

I was unable to drive our obstacle with my vehicle, as the Patrol was too wide, the turning circle too big (and I am a useless driver). It was j-u-s-t possible to do with a Hardbody and Pathy, though...

Ek het ons hindernis met die Navara getoets vir die marshals.

Dit is die eerste keer van ek 'n Navara gery het en hy is automaties!

Die enigste paal wat geraak was wat ek dit moes mis was dat ek die bossie langs die paal geraak en die takke het teen die paal gedruk.

Ek het die regte lyn gery en agteruit gery toe ek maklik die bal afgestamp het met die Navara se agterkant - dis wat jy moet doen!

Heelwat manne het die verkeerde lyn gevat en dan kry jy nie die Navara se agterkant by die bal nie!

was n baie lekker event gewees, al wat ek se is/ toyota en landrover is die groodste #@$%&*(*% op die aarde moet eerder kruiwaens begin bou. hahaha andersins baie lekker en n goeie experience, het my eerste 1.3m rand kar bestuur :woo: E63 amg merc op die skidpan.
