Thanks, Pete.

Another dilemma: My Patrol is currently all white. I am looking for a bullbar, so do i go black or colour coded? Also in the market for a roofrack, was thinking black? Any views?

Hi Louis

I guess that is a question of peronsal taste
My preference is that darker patrols can possibly go colour coded, but a light coloured or white Patrol (such as mine) looks like it has some sort of disease if all the steel bumpers and roofrack is white as well. So all mine are black. Colour coded is more expensive.
If you are interested in a second hand ARB bumper, pleae PM me. It is black though (http://www.patrol4x4.co.za/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=3474)

Hi Louis

Most of the 4.8 cars have their second battery on the back it seems. Probably too cramped otherwise.
My second battery is in the engine bay, m engine seems not to take that much space.
However its get a little hot inside the engine bay for the deep cycle battery, and is lifespan may not be that long because of it.

Hi Louis,

In the 3.0 there is enough space to fit a 2nd battery and when I purchased mine the dealer installed a brand new Deltec 105. Due to the heat in the engine bay the battery only lasted 1yr. So unless you can insulate it very well, the engine bay is not a great solution. My 2nd battery connection is now in the back.

I have had my second battery (95amp) in the engine bay since July 2010.
The system is National Lunar.
No trouble yet, touch wood. But if / when it fails the forum will know.
