TB48 running hot
Hi all. I have a 2008 Patrol 4.8 (126 000km) which runs hot under heavy loads (towing, sand driving, etc), especially under high ambient temperatures. It also gets hot after the engine has been shut off and then turned on after a few minutes. Radiator has been cleaned and coolent replaced recently. It comes down quite quickly when I turn the air con off and put the fan on max temp, max speed. Any ideas where to start looking?

Re: TB48 running hot
If radiator has been checked, cleaned etc, and properly bled following that, I think the only thing left could be the viscous fan. I'd suggest you have that checked.Billy wrote: ↑08 Nov 2017 09:39 Hi all. Also check gearbox & diff oil levels.
Do you have an aftermarket Burnco or such front bumper on?

Also check and check and then re-check the TIMING the engine runs on. I had it when the timinmg on my V6 was out a little bit, the Ngamiland sands would make it run hot[ter] and especially, it would increase temp after switching off [though many engines do that anyway, hence the Volkswagen platkarre will start running their fans after you switch of and lock up.. ]

Remove your grill and have a look at your aircon radiator ....mabe you have a grass or mud problem ....just dont clean it with a pressure washer ....just burn it clean if it is seed
