When replacing the coil springs on my GQ we broke the rubber balloon end on both sides.
They were not in good shape and basically fell off when the old coils were removed.

Still waiting for replacements and driving without them.

I find the suspension bottoms out easily with a nasty bump and those things are definitely part of the total suspension setup.
Those little round ends act like an air cushion.

I did get a little better flex without them!

R387 from Nissan (incuding a 10% disc.)

Trouble is getting the old ones off - the bolt seperates from the rubber and just turns around inside the bump stop.

Then it becomes a big job, unless there is enough room to drill out the bolt head from the top?

If not, one would probably have to remove the front springs, then tear out the rubber and cut the bolt off?

I used a "renovator" and cut the bump stop off, exposing the bolt to be clamped with a vice grip.

vir 1 f#$%&$%^% stukkie rubber. Dus, 'n stel = R 387 x 2 = R774.

Ek het die slag net 10% afslag gekry - partykeer gee hulle 5, ander kere 20 maar die keernet 10.
