Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
I have noticed that at least one Nissan dealer has been advertising an updated Patrol pick-up on the likes of Autotrader and Carfind. The new pick-up sports the 3.0 Diesel motor and styling similar to the post 2004 wagons. It seems to have the dual fuel tanks and a leaf sprung fully floating rear axle. Strangely there seems to be no information about this on the Nissan SA website
...
Does anybody know anything about this?

Re: Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
Nissan interviewed some Patrol bakkie owners about six months ago regarding their feelings about putting the 3l in the bakkie. From what I understand, everybody they interviewed was against the idea, but they went ahead and did it anyway...

Re: Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
Mr boegman was one of them ....he told them that he was happy with his 4.2 pick ups and that reliability is very important
But let him tell you the hole story ......it seems as if they are more worried about endcap ratings ect than anything else
dont think the 30l pick up as bad but the 4.2 has proven itself over many years.
Like always nissan dont really promote the patrol property
such a shame ......

Re: Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
I see there is already one on 4x4 Community with a broken engine.
To be fair though, it seems as if it's not the car's fault...

Re: Updated Patrol Pick-Up?
We can always argue about where the fault lies, and that an engine was not well maintained, abused etc.
But lets face it, some engines are more robust than others...

Yes but ANY engine driven without oil will fail. On the other hand, the guy writes "en dit is nie die eerste een nie". Hm, run of bad luck there!Alex Roux wrote:We can always argue about where the fault lies, and that an engine was not well maintained, abused etc.
