Snorkel special

Post by Peter Vee »

Pieter Pretorious of 4x4 direct has this to say in his monthly news letter "we also received stock of some old, hard to find, snorkels including for the old Nisaan Patrol/Safari... for more details see here:

http://www.4x4direct.co.za/shop/index.p ... cts_id=443

I have bought a number of items from Pieter and have been really chuffed with the service received.

Regards,

Grant makes a good point. From my research over the last few years the Safari Snorkel or Airtec Snorkels are superior in quality when compared to the "no name brand" models (for lack of a better way to say it).

I dont believe that 4x4Direct is stocking models of poor quality, but i do believe that the two brands mentioned above are better. That said, i might consider trying one of these, but, i would prefer a safari to be honest.

If anyone has tried one of these, or has a first hand experience/opinion on these, please let us know.

Thanks.Russ.

I fitted one of these to my TROLL very recently, and except for turfing the template from the word go, the fitting took me only 2 evenings (in bad light) and the thing is working very well so far. Look at my post on fitting it somewhere in vehicle accesories.
Time will tell if the quality is ok.

:blonde: Mark the chairperson of the Hilux club sells snorkels for R1800, and the are good quality as his msmbers fit them. Bought one for the 4.8 a month or so ago and it was fitted by Ben at BG Auto and it works well. Mine has Patrol written on it. Other guys have bought the Ford ones etc
