Reach For A Dream 4x4 Fun Day

Post by Herrie »

Dear 4 x 4 Friends

Reach For A Dream is on a mission to fulfill the dreams of children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses!

We have 4 x 4 Day on 9 March 2013 and we need your help please to make this fundraising event a big success.

The 4x4 Day will be at Rhino Park on the McCarthy 4x4 track.

There will be 10 obstacles and 10 teams with 10 vehicles in every team.

The sponsorship for an obstacle is R5 000.00 and the entry fee for each vehicle is R250.00.

We would like get the Nissan 4x4 Club to join this event again next year – our team won the “Beste Gees Span” this year.

Do we need to arrange for a Patrol Team as well?

The Reach For A Dream will give each sponsor a Tax invoice to get some money back from SARS.

Best regards,

Kobus

This was a fun event !!

It would be excellent if we can do 2 teams. One Patrol team and one Hardbody & Navara's etc.

The ONLY reason for this idea is that our Patrols have the turning circle of an ox wagon and we are as wide as one too.....

So with this in mind, the Patrols will be more likely to cost the Nissan team valuable points on certain obstacles. These courses, it seems, are not really designed for Patrols and Cruisers.

But I would enjoy seeing 10 Patrols give that course our best shot. Lets see if the Land Cruiser Club can try beat us.....

We were discussing this issue last night at the meeting and I told them tat this is a fun day and not a 4x4 Challenge so the obstacles should not be so narrow and the drivers must only loose points if they can not do the basic things right.

This is the same thing our club do with our obstacles at the AAWDC Fun Day - it is a "Fun Day" not a challenge!

Absolutely agreed !!!.... We must see it as a fun day. Its is not for us.... but for the people we will be assisting by having fun at the Reach for a Dream Fun Day!!

It would be a blast if the Nissan Club could be in the top 5 though. Even though its a fun day and not a 4x4 challenge, it would be nice to be on top ( and good for Nissan SA to see that we can do well, assisting with possible future sponsorship of other events )
We will win the Best Gees award again !!!..... why?..... cause we can..... :rolling: :rolling: :rolling:

Shouldn't we aim for two teams?

Team Y60 (or GQ) and Team Y61 (or GU)?

I'm in Team Y60
