Patrol 2012 3.0 GL KM/H @ 2000 rpm

Hi All
I'm new to the forum and is looking into buying a Patrol 3.0 TD GL. I'm retired and got some time at hand and don't need the 4.8 GRX for speed and I'm also very conservative about km/l.
Can anybody tell me what is the road speed on std tyres 265/70/16 @ 2000 rpm on the 3.0 TD GL Patrol where you get the max torque. And also what is the torque range eg between what rpm ?
Thanks mates

Bekker.... Welcome to the forum.

I can't answer your questions, due to me having the 4.2 diesel...... but, soon you will have all the info you need as the guys get the fingertips working in this cold weather.

But from what I've seen, comparing now to my 4.2 diesel, the 3.0 diesel has very good power to weight ratio, a relatively quick pull away (probably quicker 0 - 100Km/h), and fantastic fuel economy. I would bear in mind that these motors were, emphasis on were, problematic. I do believe that Nissan has sorted out these issues, and there are a few modifications that, as a diesel driver, feel you should definitely look into. For example, a EGT Gauge (Exhaust Gas Temperature Gauge). My personal opinion, but with just this EGT gauge and correct servicing this Patrol will easily make its 500 000 km target.

You said that you are retired..... this patrol will make you feel 18 all over again.....

I have a 2005 model. I'm not 100% sure but I think all the 3.0 are manual. Anyway with 265/75/16 at 2000RPM I am doing 120Kph according to GPS. With the 70's you will be doing 115kph.

Hmmm... yeah, good point. Driko ( Grootseun) has a 3.0 diesel that is auto, if I'm not mistaken.

Hello Bekker

When it comes to these Patrol I also defer to Grootseun (aka Dirko) but at least I can give you the following:

I have a 2003 Nissan with the 3.0 Di motor. On the last SAC day my stock standard Patrol with about 140 000 km gave the following output on the Dyano:

Torque: 1500 RPM 179.3
2000 RPM 283.2
2500 RPM 294.2
3000 RPM 285.4
3500 RPM 260.3

KW: 1500 RPM 25
2000 RPM 53
2500 RPM 70
3000 RPM 81
3500 RPM 86

On my Patrol with 265/75/16 at 3000 RPM I am about at 110 km/h and on a open highway driving I will get about 9.8/10.3 km/l.

Regards

Thanks all of you for the response to my questions. I believe I will get some more info from Grootseun once he read my post.
If I can get the km/h per 1000 rpm it will be much better.
Thanks & regards

@ 100km/h the manual should be about 2600 and the auto about 2100 - have a look on the Ausie site Patrol4x4.com

I must apologise. At 3000RPM you will be doing 115kph. At 2000RPM you will be doing 77Kph. So you are looking at 38Kph per 1000RPM in 5th gear, assuming it is a manual

That's correct with the manual. I can't say with the auto
