I went there in June and on the Friday afternoon we were sitting at a waterhole when a bakkie stopped, reversed up to the edge of the water and start unloading chairs and tables. When we asked them they said it was for a wedding on the Saturday. So for the Saturday there was no game viewing or bird watching in that area. We then drove up to the Kalahari oasis (the pub/bush service station where Castrol made one of their ads) only to find it closed because of the wedding venue.
So just make sure there is no wedding on for that weekend

Oom Mac het reeds uit gevind, die bush camp kan slegs 10 mense akkomodeer. En ek seker as ons 10 karre gaan gaan ons baie meer as die 10 mense wees. Hopenlik gaan ons sommer n lekker groep mense wees.

Hi Everyone
Yes, we will also join for the weekend. This reserve is worth every sent. Nice heated and cold pool in the camp area.
As said, nice obstacle course as well, BUT LA Sport also prepared a nice STEEP (and unknown to most) downhill track from the cellphone tower down the southern side of the hill. LA Sport provided marshals for this downhill during one of their organised weekends away, and it was a thriller! As far as I know, special permission is required to go on either. Maybe we should inquire prior to this weekend, to get permission?
No special permission required to go on the normal 4x4 tracks, including the one up to the tower and back, though... This 'normal' track also has a 'man of muis' section, to at least give you the choice, if you prefer the less risky business. My friend in his Terrano did the 'man' route and got through, no lockers. There are other 4x4 trails in Mabalingwe as well that will keep everyone busy for at least 2 days, if you want to explore. I know most of these.

Cool.
Thabbies.... I sent them an e-mail last week and still have heard nothing from them as of yet.
Louis, have you got a contact person for the place, then we can find out about the LA Sport downhill thingy?

I can't see on their site -- maybe someone knows?? Are they PET friendly? Can I bring the twee swartgatte ? Too expensive to kennel them for weekends

Oom Mac nee is natuur reservaat mag glad nie troetel diere bring nie. Dit se ook so op hulle web blad.
Dit staan ook op die tweede laaste lyn op die Tariewe bladsy.
Cedric ja het met Mariette gepraat. sy sal sorg dat ons plekke bymekaar kry. Onder Nissan4x4
