Hi Malcolm,
Welcome from a relatively new boy too, and it is nice to hear you are based in Botswana.
Please could you keep us updated on events as I continue to remain concerned about the changes envisaged for costs etc., given that last year we were told the costs of RSA travel tourists to the game reserves would escalate exponentially?
Apparently the tourism industry was discouraging individual or singular tourists with 4x4 camping ideals, (and in particular ex RSA) and focussing on international and/or group tourist trade but with a hefty cost penalty?
Get a patrol and it looks as if there are some nice good vehicles around right now but you will need some real advice from the clever members especially when it appears that there are a number of engineers too - maybe a good barometer of the vehicle's success story? I have many debates with my sons about the patrol, (two of whom are engineers as well), and we are all in agreement that the petrol model seems the better buy?
Regards,
Chris van Selm
