Juice the Patrol has a brass bush as pilot bearing and not a roller bearing
I broke an engine mounting on the last Moetgatle trip and then torn the air intake pipe which I now have modified and repaired and from then onwards
My Patrol idles at 1280rpm at start up but drops to 750 rpm within 45 seconds like it should.....so maybe you guys with the high idling engines ,make sure that the air intake is not sucking air somewhere
Hi Guys. Thanks for the advice. Took her in for a FULL service as i am beginning to doubt the previous owners service "history". The oil that came out the sump today looked similar to gearbox oil: BLACK. So opted for a full service. One spark plug was hand tight (#6) and the number 2 spark plug lead interior contact was completely disconnected. I also found this on the number 6 spark plug. When the mechanic pulled the leads off, the contacts stayed in place ontop of the spark plugs. Obviously not ideal. Ha ha. Ive ordered 6 new leads that should be here tomorrow. The vehicle seemed to be idiling rough, so i am going to bet my bottom dollar that it was the leads causing #2 and #6 spark plug to misfire. I am also interested to see if this sorts out my mysterious "high" idle. Right after the service, i found the vehicle to be idling normal, with obly one instance of her idling above 1100, when she was cold this morning. I will also be checking the intake to make sure she isnt sucking air. Thanks for the advice guys will keep you posted tomorrow as to the latest happeninga.

Regards,

Pascal
