Has anyone recently bought one of these? If so please indicate where and how much.

I have a friend in need of such a modification so I can stop having to drag him over every bump in the road
Thanks

Ons het toe SWAMBO se kar vandag gekry en die ding lyk soos 'n platkar. Hy het nog sy oorspronklike shocks en coils in, op 230k kms?????

Could you guys out there that has "been there done that" please let me know where to buy snorkel, liftkit, and seatcovers for now. We are planning a quick trip to Nam in December and I would like to take the trol instead of the LC.

Many thanks

Manie,

we are fortunate to have Dennis (Mayhem) at MegaWorld in CT on the forum, becuase he knows Trolls so well - esp. if you're going to lift higher than 2in. I still believe in Safari snorkels.
Your other options are of course Hein B and JT.

Also, I met G-Man on SAT. Send him a PM.

OME dose a 75,100 & 125mm lift for the trol, I don't know if there is stock as they are usually special order, but I will check. We can also do the snorkel and usually have stock.

I have checked stock, and  no stock, only special order and 3-4 month to arrive for the OME long travel springs and shocks.

Ja Dennis, and luckily I am a very patient person............Is it here yet??????

Ok, so as a reference, could you maybe let me have costs involved (via pm)...thanks very much.

What is your take on the "other" types..ie tough dog, procomp and so forth. We have a very limited exposure here in ZA, cause we only get 3/4 choices.

I have read the ausie forums a bit, but info is scarce even there... seems if the Americans are not involved info does not flow too well, as they like to boast about it.

I assume if one goes more than 2" then panhards and castor correction comes into play?

Thanks

2" you don't have to worry about the castor correction....check out TJM XGS from LA Sport, bit harder ride than the OME, but a better warrantee. I know of two other 4.8's one went the Iron Man route the other the Procomp....they are not impressed.

Did some more research over the past couple of days, and found http://www.4wddirect.com.au/scart/html/395.html and https://www.suspensionstuff.com.au/shop ... 8f792a1e1d.

Now as I understand from the ausie forums the Lowels stuff comes recommended by users, and the guarrentee seems good.
Funny bit is that Ironman does not have a very good following over there?

The second site mentioned supplies Dobinsons shocks with "Lift Mates" coils. The whole kit costs AUD 1100 (including tax)..... about R7700 + transport and import duty? (If any)
The coils can be replaced with Dobinsons coils for an extra 100 AUD.

This seems too good to be true, but maybe...just maybe it isnt. Does anyone have experience with importing stuff from Aus? Dennis would have. Any clues as to how much the transport and so forth would be?

OME has a very good name, but pricing wise they are a bit on the steep side? Dobinsons has always had a good name AFAIK.

Any comments?

PS...thanks Dennis for the PM...we will talk again in the new year
