I normally ask my local spares shop to order me a AG1028 GUD filter, which is the correct filter for the ZD30, however GUD will supply you with a Mann & Hummel filter ( C18143 ), which in principal is the same but is not the ideal filter to replace with. The Filter ( Mann & Hummel ) comes in a Mann & Hummel Box with a big GUD sticker stuck on it with the part no AG1028.
Firstly the GUD ( or Nissan ) filter is a steel top and bottom with a rubber sealing ring, with the paper filter medium zig-zagging around it.
Secondly, the Mann & Hummel has a "hard" rubber that holds the zig-zag paper filter together on the top and bottom, and to me that doesn't seal properly, so I fixed some self adhesive foam rubber on the top and bottom of the ZD30 airbox and then put the filter in and landed up squeezing the filter a bit to get the clamps on the airbox to click in. These filters are also not exactly cheap either, so I went on a mission to find something that fits and works. The GUD online catalogue doesn't even list an airfilter for the 3.0 Patrol !!
After hunting around I found a AG 994 filter, which is for a Renault Megan (Scenic/Classic). This filter is 130mm high, OD is 176mm and the ID is 90mm. The GUD or Mann & Hummel filter ( AG1028 ) is 138mm high, OD is 176 and the ID is 95mm. Now since fitting the adhesive rubber to the inside of the airbox I have compensated for the 8mm lost. It fits like a glove and wait for it..... wait for it.....I bought 2 GUD oil filters ( Z 153 & Z 292 ) and the air filter for R 270 !!!!!
