Mini Patrol wrote:Just checked my Dyno that I did last week on the 4,5 together with a mate on his company's dyno so there was no "dyno skullduggery" but they are all slightly different. Hit 300 nm at 1520 rpm and came below it again at 4070. Max was 332 @ 3628 rpm.
When we started it only hit 300 Nm @ 2990 and was below 300 Nm @ 3900 Nm and max was 315 Nm @ 3507 rpm.
Hi David,
Great. Where these numbers corrected back to engine or are they direct on wheels ?

Re: Diesel vs Sparks
On flywheel but no correction for altitude/air pressure and the runs where done very early in the morning over 2 hrs. The Owner would have a sh&%tfit if we played with the program as I would also prefer everything with no "corrections". It also does not take into account my bigger tyres.Grant wrote:Mini Patrol wrote:Just checked my Dyno that I did last week on the 4,5 together with a mate on his company's dyno so there was no "dyno skullduggery" but they are all slightly different. The only way to accurately determine the difference between different vehicles is to run them on the same dyno one after the other with minimal time between runs.
Our objective was to change the torque curve from a parabola to as flat as possible which was done very succesfully and any power or torque gains where a bonus.

Re: Diesel vs Sparks
The dyno results on the tb45e remapped by Maus was a lot less.
It is measured at the wheels (33 muds) with auto gearbox and mapped for better fuel consumption.
Max 253nm @ 3500rpm . The curve is very flat with 241nm at 2000 , 237nm at2500rpm and 247 at 4000.
Max 103kw @ 4000rpm . 98kw @ 4500.
That car consistently returns 5 to 7 km/l

"The challenge: time from 200RPM to 800RPM in first gear low range towing a load.."
Pulling a load at 200rpm to 800prm must be the worst thing one can do to an engine and gearbox and the rest of the drive train !!! The shock as the piston is being forced down due to the explosion travels very nicely through all the components right to all the wheels.... nope thats why the diesel is still better on rocks..... extremely slow speeds ( maybe the gear ratios are better suited fro this in the 4.2 diesel ) at 800 rpm I'm hardly moving.... even on a downhill, the petrol motor I believe will run away with you much quicker, so more brake work will need to be done. Remember you DON'T want to be in a stall situation at any time. With the motor stalled you have less control.... no brake boost... no power steering.... no aircon (extra braking effect).... and are basically " out of control "
