Very nice, I am glad you are enjoying your Lorrie, Baviaans seems quite a nice place , maybe I need to visit it some time. Were you satisfied with your consumption of your Lorrie

It is a beautiful place and has a bit of everything including 4x4 trails.You know what Jules i never bought this vehicle for its consumption i know they are heavy.All the people that talk to me about the patrol cry about fuel consumption but i tell them it is not my everyday vehicle and when i plan a trip somewhere i work out the distance and fuel costs ,save up and go on my trip and really enjoy it.

Re: Baviaanskloof
when i got to the last town before going into baviaans i was on half tank and went to the garage to fill up.While i was filling up i opened the bonnet to check fluids etc.Soon an audience started to form around the engine bay to marvel at the size of the engine.One of the guys with me on the trip said to a coloured guy standing looking at the engine that it just cost me R975 for a half tank....He replied "Nee jislaaik, ek koop sommer nogge kar met daai geld"

Re: Baviaanskloof
i roughly did about 4.9km to a litre but then again i did not do this trip to see how far i could get on a tank and to drive carefully to see what my fuel consumption would be.I drove at about 110km per hour going to 120km/h when overtaking then sitting on 110 most of the time.

Re: Baviaanskloof
Ditto it's a privilege to own a Patrol. Every week my bil sends me pics of 4.2 and 4.5's on his list. Sadly he does around 70k km pa.toyford wrote:It is a beautiful place and has a bit of everything including 4x4 trails.You know what Jules i never bought this vehicle for its consumption i know they are heavy.All the people that talk to me about the patrol cry about fuel consumption but i tell them it is not my everyday vehicle and when i plan a trip somewhere i work out the distance and fuel costs ,save up and go on my trip and really enjoy it.
How'd the Mahindra do? I like it when I see the lesser brands out having fun.

@dieselfan,
The mahindra did very well, I can't fault that vehicle,it has about the same kind of pulling power as the patrol,it was pulling a trailer and still managed 11.6km to a liter.
