Smoking when cold.....

Hi Almal,

We have a 2007 Nissan Patrol 4.8 GRX. In the morning when the vehicle is cold the car smokes a lot en when the engine has heated up a bit, it disappears? Is the smoking normal on these older tech straight sixes?

When ur engine makes use of its choke it can look like some smoke but only for 30 seconds or so

Possibility that the valve stem seals are worn out and might need replacement. How many Km on the clock?

Are you loosing oil?

The vehicle has 110 000km on the clock.

Smoking only when cold until engine starts getting temp. Since I had the vehicle I have taken it for its first service at Mr Cummings.

I mentioned in another post that I thought the vehicle was loosing oil? What does this mean Tinus? But after filling it up it seems fine now? :idea:

Jong my filter sal ek dan seker moet check, maar die voertuig is so 1500km gediens en ek glo dit is seker gecheck of vervang?

Wat beteken dit as die voertuig olie brand?

As die voertuig vir langer as 30 sekondes rook is dit a probleem?

Nee dit is nie net die tyd wat jou enggine choke
As dit valve stem seels was sou jy heeltyd olie gebrand het of wanneer jy jou voet neersit so ek sou nie bbekommerd wees nie

Watter kleur is die rook?

As dit blou/wit is, is dit olie en as dit swart is dan is dit agv over fueling!

Daardie seals is hulle duur om te vervang? Is dit a algemene probleem met die petrol Patrols?

Die rook is baie lig wit, maar soos ek se slegs as die voertuig koud is. So ek glo darm dit is maar net as die choke werk. Die winter is dit obviously erger.

Sal maar olie dop hou net vir ingeval.
