Lost Keys and Immobiliser Remote

Post by Wilfred Moore »

OK, as you know I am now stationed in India and yes I miss the Patrol a lot.
It happened so that my keys for the Patrol (Now in storage) got lost. It was given to family in Johannesburg to safeguard, but it did not happen.

My biggest concern is the immobiliser remote that is lost too.

Any help in the process please!

I probably have to go to the police to report it and then try the dealer for a new key. The immobiliser in the Patrol is an aftermarket one, not as part of the key.

I am coming to SA in June for 4 weeks and would love to drive the Patrol a bit. This process of finding another key will probably take some time.

Wilfred I drive past a Nissan dealer every day.

If you send me your VIN, I can order you a new key?

Not sure what to do about the immobiliser, did you have it fitted yourself?

Hi Peter,

No I did not fit the immobiliser myself, I bought the vehicle with it. I think it is a "Car secure" system and I think I might find the details in the car.

Thanks for the offer Peter, you think it is that easy to just order a new one? If it is, then I will be greatfull.

The vin number is: JN1TBSY61Z0500938
Thanks for your trouble Peter, really appreciate it.

Thanks Peter, appreciate your trouble!!

Thinus, no there is no chip in the key!! I previously had a spare made quite easily, but had the orginal key then. Will have to get a new key from the dealer and then cut spares. These keys are only to start the car, nothing else.

Hi a proper locksmith do that on site at your car ,they have a way to strip a lock to get your match key . Form Nissan you order a factoty key that will fit you locks as standerd and a helse hole in the bank (get the right salesman ) and teck if it is a NATS key he will need a CONSOL 2 and a NATS Keycard

Sorry Wilfred

They can only supply a "blanck" key for your car, for about R450. A good locksmith can then cut the key to suit the lock, but will obviously need access to the lock to do this.

The alternative is to buy new lock(s) with key.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance?
