Re: Patrol 60th - Melkbos 4x4 - 24 Sept 2011
Hi All,
OK so the CoCT (City of Cape Town) threw us a curve ball!
Atlantis Dunes is no more … well not for the Patrols on national braai day anyway!!! (Long story involving a commercial feature film shoot …)
We have a new venue for the Cape gathering for the Patrol’s 60th birthday bash:
Welcome to MELKBOS 4x4
Hendrik van Helsdingen, the owner of Melk “Bos” 4x4 has graciously come to the party and granted the Patrols the run of the Bakgat route, Swaaigat and Helgat (the play areas) will be ours exclusively. Have a look at http://www.melkbos4x4.co.za
In addition there will be a spitbraai with all the trimmings in the lapa, a bar to quench our thirst and plenty “kuier” time. So, those who wish to drive the sandy winding route amongst the trees and bush are welcome to do so, those who wish to play in Swaaigat and Helgat (obstacle course type terrain) may do so and those who wish to relax and get to know the crowd are welcome as well!
To each his own.
There might even be a precision driving challenge in Helgat for those who believe they know the limits of their Patrols, but only if our negotiations are successful and hopefully with some nice prizes thrown in to boot.
Nissan has kindly offered to fund the day, so please enter your name on the http://www.Patrol4x4.co.za list and come join us at Melkbos 4x4 on the R27 (West Coast Road) close to Melkbosstrand on national braai day 24 September 2011.
See you there!
