JG , as ek nou daaraan dink was julle BAIE GELUKKIG, DAAR WAS SEKER N ENGEL IEWERS.
Met slegs n 100km ver het jy ten minste 120 lt petrol aanboord, voorwaar kon dit baie erger gewees het.
Oom MAC
Min ouens sal dit kan doen wat Oom aangebied het, maar dit is hoekom ons op die forum is.
Thanks to all my Patrol friends, also for those who called me. This is friendship 100!
Koos you are 100% right. I had approx 110L op petrol inside the tanks, 40L on top of the roofrack and 3 Cadac bottles on top. During those 30sec slow-down without brakes to stop the car, we we transported in an enormous bomb with the fuse already lit. We were indeed very blessed and YES, there were angels on the scene in the form of 3 black men who arrived on the scene with an additional fire extinguisher and their helping hands to get everything ofloaded. The same way they arrived from nowhere, they left the scene after everything were under control. I have no idea who they were. In fact I will share a beautiful story about this issue at a later stage. Again, my family were brave stars the way they operated similar to trained soldiers to save us from a disaster.
Gerrit, I have no idea where the fire started. I suspect electrics as no 1 and hydraulics as 2. I will share detail as soon as I know more. I will also know Lasarus' fate tomorrow.
Friends are beyond value in our lives. I had at least 6 offers for vehicles to use for our holiday, all of which I appreciate deerly. We will depart from Pretoria on Saturday early morning with a Disco3 belonging to friends to the same spot in Mozambique where the rest of our party pack already await our arrival.
I am sorry to hear of the loss, but I am glad that noone was hurt, and that some people were willing to step into the "Good Samaritan" role when you needed it (to extend the Biblical metaphor.)
