GU is an Australian model code for the post 1998 Patrol (The Nissan model code for this vehicle is actually Y61). They call the older, more boxy Patrol, like the one Jules has, the GQ (Nissan model code Y60)
GL and GRX are the trim versions of the Y61 that were available in SA.
Hope that helps?
In case you were wondering about the different types of TD42 motors:
The Y60 diesels only came with the non-turbo TD42 (85 kW @ 4000 rpm, 264 Nm @ 3200 rpm)
The Y61 diesels came with the TD42 (91 kW @ 4000 rpm, 272 Nm @ 2000 rpm), the turbocharged TD42T (114 kW @ 3600 rpm, 330 Nm @ 3200 rpm) or the intercooled TD42Ti (114 kW @ 3600 rpm, 360 Nm @ 2000 rpm) in the case of the wagons.
We never got the turbo wagons in SA, though...
Oh and the Y60 also came with a 4.2 petrol motor called the TB42 (125 kW @ 4200 rpm, 325 Nm @ 2800 rpm).

Very nice cab there boet! Iron Maiden is a cool name....would be cool to get a picture of an Iron Maiden (the torture device) with a Nissan badge on and a Cruiser inside...hehehe
Many happy Km's...do yourself a favour and gooi some fresh Caltex Delo 400 oil in....
lol...now I'm getting jealous with all these turbo 4.2's around!
Yip the full service comes in the new month.... I drained all my cashflow buying the Maiden, but at least the bank doesn't own my Iron Maiden
So new month will be delo 400 and new filters and g/box, transfer and diff oil check/change.
I see I have some other reusable air filter, cant see a name/brand on it though. But found a can of spray oil for the filter.
Not sure yet Dave, but I have the Owners Manual at home, but was going to do a search here as I seem to remember seeing a thread about what is needed to service a Patrol, not sure if it was 4.2 diesel specific, but the boxes and diff should be the same.
