Hi All,
YOU ALL HAVE TO CHECK THIS OUT!!!
Sjoe I don't know who of you saw this issue - but man is there a very very well CUSTOMISED Nissan Navara in that magazine!!!!
I bought the issue - man you guys must see it. They took a Nissan Navara 2.5 Tdci and had it customized - guys it is unbelievably beautiful!!! The bakkie has monster size 38" Mickey Thompson's tyres on it - but man would I like to own something like that.
Hmm, if I win the Lotto this weekend I am buying myself a Navara like that....and have it customised

. I am not lying to you if I say I have most probably read the article about 10 times already and everytime I pick up that magazine I find myself drooling over the pages of the Nissan Navara Customised Bakkie!!!
UNBELIEVABLY PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY

- IWANT ONE - WHO HAS R500 000 TO SPARE ME PLEASE!!!!

Pieter.....I love your enthusiasm, but save your money.....your Patrol will go places the Bling Mobile can`t even dream of.
My prediction is that the Navara will spend more time being fixed than being driven (if they actually take it off the black stuff) because the focus of their conversion was 100% on looks and 0% on sorting out the kind of fundamental engineering and design issues that are required if one is to do that sort of conversion and not make huge sacrifices in terms of both drivability and reliability

.
Running 38" rubber on an IFS vehicle, will put way too much strain on the front drive train components. I suspect if they actually try and use it on trails with any regularity, it will eat its CV`s, ball joints and tie-rod ends etc, and spend more time being fixed than being driven. Without major upgrades to all those components (which as far as I understand has not been done) then the std IFS is just simply not designed to handle the sort of torque that those takkies will put through it).
IMHO if they were going to do a meaningful conversion (ie. something thats not just for show ) they should have done an Soil Axle Swop, or at least a fairly serious upgrade to all the std IFS components. Also increasing to 38" without changing diff ratios......eish

Also, all that extra strain on the motor, and no mention of the installation of an EGT gauge

Ross,
Dennis was saying those exact same things to me last night - and I must say I tend to agree with both of you. But it definately looks good - that's for sure!!!
I am following the article - it is going to undergo a K&N performance filter, Dastek Unichip and a freeflow exhaust system - for now that's apparently the only upgrades they are considering to "enhance" the performance!!!
Let's see if they keep us posted when it is really being put to the test - that's if they going to actually do that!!
I am curious........

I think the only way to make that thing go like it looks is to put a TD42 turbo into it, and then it will sound the part as well
