Hi , it's a pity vehicle sites always just show the falgship of a model , never the entry level model.I would like to see it and than comment.
I like the engine , its sounds awesome, the looks well the Japs seem to copy the Koreans a bit lately, too bling, but again this vehicle as on the site will be destined for the Arab countries.
It look very Cruiser200 and Prado like for me.
Whats wrong with manufactures as well 20" tyres

So the Patrol now has independant suspension all round... There might be a possibility that a rigid rear axle version might join the line-up at some point, because the F-Alpha platform, that it is built on, does accommodate this, but don't hold your breath.
The All Mode 4x4 system seems to be another copy of Land Rover's Terrain Response system and offers modes dedicated to sand, rock, snow and on-road environments.
It seems that the Patrol still uses body-on-frame construction instead of going the monocoque route (as did Land Rover with the Disco/Rangy or Mitsubishi with the Pajero).
There also seems to be a possibility that the old Y61 will soldier on alongside the new PG616 in some markets

to cater for those that prefer simplicity and old fashioned ruggedness.
Positive:
* Quite like the styling
* Mechanical rear diff lock available (in conjunction with traction control)
* Seems like the rear diff is actually a lockable Torsen LSD
* Kinetic Dynamic suspension system to minimize roll stiffness off the tar (for flex) and maximize it on tar (for good body roll control).
* The big console cooler box is, well, cool

* 300 kW & 560 Nm V8 5.6
* 3.0 V6 TD?
* 7-Speed auto box
Negative
* 20" Rims (and huge brake discs: not sure if smaller rims will be feasible)
* 2780 kg mass

(even porkier than a D3)
* Price (probably)
* Tupperware vulnerability
* Reduced flex (compared to GU, in my opinion)
Have a look at this video of the new Patrol on an obstacle course. The first part is pretty boring, but from about the halfway mark, some axle twisting starts:

Here is another video showing some high speed dirt road and sand driving:

Perhaps smaller rims will be available after all. Have a look at this:

This and the LC 200 looks simular, I suppose its going to give the LC 200 uphill.The Arabs are going to buy this , plenty off
Well the beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Sorry boys , this Patrol has just moved into the top bracket with this design and electronics, competing now with M/benz GL, R/Rover and LC 200. I will choose the Benz or the Rover above the two Japs.
Gerrit I read somewhere , the oil burner will be the Jaguar/Land Rover tdv6 3.0 sequential turbo , is it true? Apparently Renault had a finger in the design of this engine.
UN will definately not order this Patrols

The new independent suspension and the world-first Hydraulic Body Motion Control System...'

hy's mooier as die LC200;
daai 5.7 L enjin moet 'n juweel wees;
maar onafhanklike suspensie reg rondom

;
en 20" wiele

;
en al die elektronika

;
en die prys

.
