Thank you for the replies. Agree that it's over priced, must maybe make a cheeky offer

It’s been on the market for quite some time now been for sale for almost a year now I don’t think the owner really wants to sell it about 6 months back it was in the market for 165k if my memory serves me right

When I bought my SWB Pajero in 2018 I had certain requirements that forced me to get a 4wd which would fit into a tiny parking space where I live. The Disco 2 I looked at first did not fit at all...
Therefore, I only really looked at Defender 90s, TJ Wranglers, SWB Pajeros, and one rare SWB Prado. I never saw or heard of SWB patrols for sale in SA during that time.
I decided on the Pajero because it just had a near perfect service history and had some unicorn-like features that I loved.

Then around November last year I spotted this SWB Patrol as well and man... It has been an itch, calling out to be scratched.
My issue is that I have spent nearly R50k upgrading my beloved Pajero over the last 2 years and I just cannot part with it because of the money I have spent (that I know I will not get back), as well as just how attached I am to my little Pajero (this is my first 4x4 that I own outright). It is fantastic on road and is really kitted out well and I trust it enough to take it into the Congo today if I had to.

With that said though, I have encountered some off road terrain where the Pajero has left me lacking (IFS and IRS just do not flex well - does not matter if you have a rear diff lock or bigger tires... If you do not have at least one wheel with traction, you cannot go anywhere... and you encounter that situation quite often with IFS and IRS). Also, the design of the Pajero means when I travel on gravel and corrugated roads, I actually have to drive faster to get the suspension to start working, otherwise you just rattle to bits (monocoque chassis design). This means although I have full control of the car, I feel it is an unsafe way of travelling and exploring. I prefer the old-school way of life in the slow lane (grew up travelling in the back seat of a 110).
And that has pushed me to look at this SWB Patrol more seriously...
I also believe it is way overpriced, as was stated above.
But, with that in mind, I just cannot see myself risking the idea of selling my Pajero to possibly change it for this Patrol... I am almost hoping somebody would buy it, so I would not feel tempted to go look at it on Gumtree everyday!

What would you guys do? Try and risk selling my Pajero in hopes of getting this Patrol, especially given South Africa's lockdown state?
I am probably asking the converted on this forum, so I am not sure why I am actually asking here, but seeing as someone finally brought it up, I thought I might as well highlight my itching here in hopes of hearing some opinions that will set me straight (or skew)! :imnewhere:
