Does anyone know where I can buy a TD42 diesel pump cutoff solenoid for a reasonable price?
The agents are asking me R4500 for a new one?
Thank you,

I'm not too familiar with the diesels, so not entirely sure where this is, but checked the manual. So I assume you mean the solenoid that sits on the carburator body (part number 1619603J10). I've highlighted it in the attached image.

If so, you can order from PartSouq (
http://www.partsouq.com). It will cost the princely sum of around R833 at the current exchange rate for a genuine part. Excluding shipment and customs. Worst is it will take a day or two to be delivered to you.

Nope....diesels don't have carburetors.....
Not too sure where else one can get one of those. I would give Marinus a shout ( Terrain Tamer ), He may be able to source one for you. I would however thing that it will be pretty much a generic part, as it isn't exactly a computer controlled part. I would also try Bosch Agents, and I think they do a lot of servicing on Zexel Injector pumps. I doubt it will cost more than a few hundred rands at best.

Cedric,
As I mentioned - I'm a moron with diesels. I've also realises that the image I posted is for a 4.2 petrol and not a 4.2 diesel. Shows just how much I know of oilburners. In short, that is just me being a moron.
If I can get the part number, I can see if I can track it down on PartSouq.

Have you had a look at the plug, possibly a wire broken off......
These pics are ancient from my rebuild years back, I assume you mean this one grey plug on the IP?

Right - I've tracked down the relevant stuff on PartSouq - for the correct engine this time around. Well, I hope so. I'm assuming this is a Y61 ? The Y60's and Safaris seem to differ a little...
In any case, there are two different part numbers for this - depending presumably on whether NATS is installed or not.
Details on them - including corresponding part numbers from other suppliers follow.
Option 1 - "Valve Assembly"
Part number: 16870V0701
Cost: 172.67$
Substitute Nissan part numbers: 16870V2100, 16870R8100
Alternate part numbers for option 1:
BOSCH 9461610530
ZEXEL 146650-0720
ISUZU 8942393720
Option 2 = "Valve Assembly Anti-Theft with Alarm".
Part number: 168705C900
Cost: Unknown - PartSouq has no stock.
Alternate part numbers for Option 2:
BOSCH 9461615511
ZEXEL 146688-0120
ISUZU 8971274470
MITSUBISHI ME741258
Just to confirm that I'm not entirely mad this time around, I've also attached a screen grab with the relevant part highlighted...
