Brake pedal feel different on first brake application

Good morning!

I got a little something I am not sure about if I should be worried or not: whenever I haven't pressed the brake pedal for more than let's say a minute or so the first application is quite softer and I need to press the pedal further down until I got braking action.
After the first depressing it is normal.
I do get good braking also on the first application but I just have to depress much more.

The brakes are less than 10000km old, pads and discs.

Should I worry? Where would you look at first?

Hey hey, long time no see !! You have been very quiet for a long time...haha

I wonder if the master cylinder isn't starting to wear out slightly. Possibly needs a seal kit change. I doubt it is on the slave cylinders. But sadly I'm not too clued up on the braking systems

Hi ricster,
yes, I didn‘t find time due to far too much work and in parallel not enough time to even enjoy the Patrol.

I‘ll have that checked, thanks!

Edit: question changed, obviously I should get parts at the dealer‘s place...

I would think any brake repair shop/workshop would be able to sort that out for you. Maybe get a price from Nissan and do a comparison. I wonder if a spares shop will have them too, as I think they are also pretty much a generic seal used on many vehicle manufacturers

Sounds like someone changed your brake pads pushed calipers back and now you need to bleed them again when last did you change your fluid ?
Also it master leaks you would loose fluid . Just double check the vacuum pipes for a small leak you might have it and on your first push the vacuum comes back

Thanks Tinus!
The brake pads actually have been changed not too long ago.
I‘ll ask the shop to bleed the calipers.
The fluid has been renewed also about a year ago, the level stays high, so there shouldn‘t be any leak.

I‘ll keep you posted, the car goes to the shop in a week.

Just remember to bleed them in the correct order. Will need to check the manual on this, so I will confirm later. But I seem to recall the order is:

1: load sensor switch (above back diff).
2: left back.
3: right back.
4: left front.
5: right front.

As I said, that is the order I remember, but my memory is terrible. I will confirm once I have checked the manual.

This only matters if the system has been completely emptied of fluid. At this point the order is irrelevant, but it definitely sounds like there is air in the system.
If the symptom has been there since the fluid was replaced, it could be that they did not bleed it properly, but if it's a new symptom then there is a problem that is allowing air into the system. The most likely candidate would be the master cylinder, but it could be any of the cylinders.

Are you losing any brake fluid (look for what looks like dog-pee marks on the insides of the tires).

No, I‘m not loosing any kond of fluid at all as far as I know.
