Good day

Yes, yes I know it is still 2018 and I know we still have 3 epic events planned for the year :oldtimer:

But it is never to early to start planning so what I need is some input from everybody so that we can start planning for 2019!!!

We have been doing a few trips in the past years that has become regular on the calander, however it is also a fact that there is always the need to try something new.

I have recieved a few requests that we look at doing something else than that which has been scheduled over the past few years, yes they are all well attended and epic trips, yet it is also clear that there is quit a few regulars not attending as they have been there and done that and are looking for a new challange.

So what is it that I need from you??

Please give your input into what you would like to do, but please give some details on your sugjestion so that we can get a clear picture of the trip.

Does this mean we are no longer doing Moegatle, River trip, Dunes trip, Baboons and Rust de Winter? - NO!! but what we want is some other new and exiting options to look at and to make sure that we cater for members that have done these many times and want a new chalange.

So if you have an idea, a route or epic get away, off the beaten track where we can put our Patrols to their intended use PLEASE let us know and we will take it from there!!

Dirk - I'd like to add my Namakwa trip to the list, if possible. On-site at clients at the moment, so cannot give more details yet, but will provide more info early next week. It will need to be school holidays. April or June, probably best.

No specific venue in mind but what about KZN north coast. The RBay guys may have a suggestion here. Otherwise Ponta is an option.

The old Hunters Road from Nata to Kazangula in Bots is a winner. Could end the trip with a drive around inside Chobe or that awesome booze cruise/boat game drive on the river. Thebe River Safaris has the best boat and it's cheaper than most. Could even cross to Vic fall for the day.

Only possible in winter though, the old hunters road is often impassable in the rainy season.

We have also recently done a couple of trios into Moz. Last trip was to vilanculos, the one before to Bilene and before that to Ponta.
The roads are tarred all the way to ponta now as I'm sure everyone is aware, same with the roads to Bilene and Vilanculous so not a very challenging 4x4 trip for the vehicles.

If everyone wants to do a Moz trip my 2 cents would be that the route goes north of ponta.

Ponta Malongane
Ponta mamoli
Milibangalala
And up to Santa Maria

At least you get to do lots of the traditional Moz sand driving ect.

Just ideas :eureka:
