Saw this beauty pop up on OLX.
R 99 000
In the Strand, WP.

If only I had a bit of free cash, this would be coming home with me

Slap a GT-R motor in there and a few extra bits and bobs and kick some ass

I must say I kind of like the RD28...don't let my TD42 hear I said that :rolling:
In a SWB the RD28 will be perfect.

I almost bought it.

But I have my heart quite set on a 4.2.

My uncle went to look at it for me. Only negative comments was that just dont be in a hurry.
He says it is in a really good condition.
All paper work in order and SA nuber plates.
Only problem is that the diesel pump loses pressure after standing more than an hour and then takes a few turn to build pressure again. Drives fine. No cracked barn door. Slightest shake at 80km/h but then goes away normal patrol things.
The gauges are mp/h with km/h markings aswell.
Procom shocks and mud tires.
Did have two fork lift accedents(industrial area) but was fixed. One marks clear coat fading slightly.

The last gu shorty left hand drive sold last in 2012. So rarity is its value and it really is in a very good condition.

Wonder if this one is still available?
Did send the dude a message, will see what he says.

I am seriously considering selling my 4.5 and to replace with another diesel....
The swb might be a bit small for a family touring vehicle though... suppose nothing a roofrack or trailer cant fix :eureka:
And with the 4.625:1 diffs, there is just so much possibilities... hint: 35" tyres...

I was also wondering what happened to it. Really hoped someone on the forum bought it.
Remember those diff ratios are only nice for 35" with the td42 if I understand it correctly.

I dont know the rd28, but sure it must be able to be tuned to deliver a bit more power? dont know...

I see a rd28-t gives about 84kw...

This one might be a bit to lazy due to faulty diesel pump?

I have no idea how the diesel pump works but apparently it's only fault is releasing preasure when it is not in use. But works perfectly at doing its job when the engine is running.
