Re: Replacement front speakers
I wonder why Nissan fitted a Bosé sound system (speakers and amp) in the Pathfinder and then went and fitted a run of the mill set-up in the Patrol.
They did the same with the Diesel engine. They installed an old run of the mill 3.0 (118kw/350nm) engine to their flagship range, whereas they were simultaneously fitting much more effecient, frugal and much more powerful 140kw/450nm engines in the Spain spec Pathfinder (and Navara) in the 2.5d 4 cylinder and the 3.0d (176kw/500nm) V6 engines!!

Re: Replacement front speakers
So i got myself of 6.5" replacement speakers for the front. Not really to worried about namebrands as the system is just there to entertain me on the road and keep the vibe going.
Not going to have music thumping and base rocking. That would require a amp and i really don't want to go down that rabbit hole.
The original fronts are mounted within a plastic housing but for some reason the new speakers didn't fit in them.
So we did some grinding away of some plastic to make the new speakers fit into the housings. Not sure if its the brand of speakers or if the 6.5" were to big but i see most replaced their originals with 6.5" replacements.
New replacement speaker
Old speaker
At least the end result is I now have 5 out of 6 working speakers compared to the 4 out of 6 which i had before. Will trace the problem on the 4th speaker next weekend.
On a side note, I will have to take off the door panels again and fix the window rubber. When i removed the panel i took them off separately and damaged them so will have to refit them properly again.

Re: Replacement front speakers
you do have to trim the inside of the plastic housing to fit some speakers.
