TB42 38 Webber conversion
I bought a 1995 SGL Y60 in George for R110K in March 2015. Since then I have replaced Nikki Carb with a 38 Webber en Simota air filter. I have also replaced the points and condenser with electronic ignition. I bought it with a Viper Exhaust Branch and 50mm free flow. I have removed the choke butterflies and added a cyclone intake mod ontop of the Webber. Underneath the Webber I machined the manifold to hold two more cyclones underneath each carburettor port. This swings the air and gives great performance with the same amount of fuel. It advances the gassing process of the fuel and air.
I gained between 15 to 20 % more power for the same fuel consumption. Intown I get 5 to 6 km per litre and the best i got on the open road was 7.6km/L. I also have 32 BF's on which takes a lot of power to turn properly.

Thats a very nice GQ you have there and impressive fuel consumption!
Seems like the GQ's are starting to be collectables as you dont seem to find them for under 100k....

Re: TB42 38 Webber conversion
Hi Danie, that is good looking GQ there!! I have also done the 38 Weber conversion on my TB42. Can you please show us picture of the Simota air cleaner as well, and I'm very interested on how the cyclone is working, did you do the machining yourself?

Re: TB42 38 Webber conversion
Ek dink n TB42 sal mooi loop met 3x side draft webers.
Wonder of iemand al so conversion gedoen het?
