Recovery Point advice needed

Hi chaps,
My dads Toyota D4D needs front and rear recovery points .
He has two of the hook type at home, i told him i'm certain they cant be used for snatching. see pic attached of black hook. Is this correct ? I have read elsewhere that okes use these all the time to snatch from?
I want him to get pates rather, see pic of silver 90" bent plate 10mm
As for the rear, he has the removable receiver tow hitch. He can surely use a rated pin in there (obviously without the tow ball hitch) ,or he can get a slot in reciever hitch (also with rated pin) that uses the same box channel as orginial tow ball reciever surely ? see pic attched of a similar on on Suzuki.
(Ps: Sorry this post is a bit jumbled i just dont have time to correctly order my question and pics)
Russ.

The setups shown in the first and third pics should be fine.
Don't like that specific open hook type. But if you can find and mount factory Patrol points they are plenty strong.

Thats my sentiments too. first and third pics are what i advised him to achieve. I too am not a believer in the hook type point. Altough apparently lots say it snatches very well.
Needless to say i hope in any even i dont need to use the snatch rope, but i would like him to be prepared should the need arise.
Obviously, its my last resort as always.

The hook is advantagious because there are no shackles to go flying about, and thus i prefer an open hook in principle.
But not one made from cast or ductile iron or some jnknown alloy, and 10000lb is not enough for snatching a well-stuck vehicle in my view. Double hooks used with a bridle are just barely enough, but only if they take equal load (ie a perfectly straight recovery).

Some more recovery point advice needed:
I have four solid 4 3/4 ton graded shackles.
However the pin seems to be slightly too large for the recovery point.
What should I do?
Note that the hole through which the pin goes is not exactly round, but elongated.

I have an inherent distrust and dislike of the very idea of a snatch using anything other than a point designed, tested and certified for that specific purpose in accordance with sound engineering principles. Anything else is just taking a chance. And I have yet to see any recovery point on any civilian 4wd which has been certified by an engineer for snatching purposes.

Alex, those are not recovery points and should not be used as such.
Those are designed to tie the vehicle down during transport.

Then besides the one hook in front, I am not aware of any recovery points on the Patrol that comes standard?
Unless mine was taken off before I bought it
