Clutch pedal return spring

Hi Guys, on my 1998 Patrol 4.5 Gl, the clutch pedal return spring is trying playing guitar everytime I depress the pedal.
Tried greasing it and a small plastic bush fell out - looks very worn! Any ideas how to fix this as it seems a mammoth task taking the whole pedal assembly out.
Thanks.

Mine did the same. I used a cable tie to tighten spring to mounting hole. This fixed it.
Will post pic later, the troll is with my wife...

What might also help is to spray q20 on the spring....

Christo that piece of plastic that fell off is a bush on what the spring clips around and now the spring is turning on metal when you press the clutch
Spanjaard makes a product called Vaseline spray and I think that is the best quick fix

Thanks Guys, Fanus, my spring seems to differ from the Pick Up and I do not thing a tie clip will suffice - spring is wound in two parts and very tight to remove.
Errol, I had another look, nearly bent my back in 6 places to get underneath steering column! - You are right -Will try to remove spring and make a replacement bush from Teflon. I think it will be easier to remove the whole clutch pedal assembly and do the work on a bench and replace the whole unit.
Has anyone tried to remove the whole clutch pedal assembly? - will appreciate guidelines how to:
Thanks.

The spring/photo I posted is the one on my 4.5 grx. However it does not look like it is the original spring that the vehicle came out with. Looks like there is another hole not far from the one the spring is connected to. (does not show on the photo).
