6mm Wheel Spacers

There has been some chat about wheel spacers and inner sidewalls of the big muddies we make use of catching on the inside wheel well.

About 4 years back I had 4 spacers made up to give me the clearance when on full articulation, as I don't have my rear sway bar connected anymore due to lazyness on my side to get new sway bar links.

All these spacers do is give the clearance without having to go spend a fortune on massive spacers which is not necessary. The wheel studs will still protrude enough to give more than sufficient thread inside the wheel nut too ( mine have been on for 4 years now without any issues. The other VERY important thing these spacers do is allow one to fit ANY wheel rim onto the Patrol hub. As we all know the Patrol hub has a small radius where the wheel rim fits over the hub that can cause disastrous results as the rim does not fit flush with the hub and cannot be tightened up 100%. I put these spacers on my Iron Maiden to allow me if ever I'm in the poo, to be able to use any rim of any 4x4 ( as long as the PCD of the studs is the same ).

I chatted to Juice ( Greg ) about these spacers and he can make them up R 61.00 each ( R 244.00/set of 4 ). These are unpainted. I took an old can of spraypaint I had lying around in my garage and sprayed mine and they still look good for 4 years old. These spacers are for GQ and GU Patrols !!

Let me know if anyone wants a set. Naturally its better to get a batch together from a labour point of view.

Here is a pic of what it looks like...

Here is a few pics Thabbies took at the Patrol 60th Aneversary of when Andrews front wheel removed itself from the hub due to the aftermarket rims not seating properly on the hub

Check the last 3 pics....

If the guys in the Cape want, I'm sure I can twist Tinus' arm to take some down with him if he is going down that side in the near future ....

Need to check, I raised my suspension and now the wheels are more right. can I fit double set on the left side to make the wheels look the same on both side.

One last check Are they just cut from 6mm plate or machined on the sides?

Previous post was tongue in cheek.
