CAMIL SHOCK MOD

Hi All,
My Hardbody 4x4 has done almost 150 000km's on original shocks, which are on the way out. I am planning to replace them in a couple of weeks as I also need to fit new tyres.
I use my troll for off road, so the hardbody is my daily chariot, but I do drive a short badly rutted dirt road every day.
Has anyone had any experience with the Camil shocks. I have heard that they are pretty good and improve the nose dive on our bumpy roads?
I would appreciate any info.
Cheers

From what I hear, especially on the SANI hardbody those Camils work brilliantly !! Being a coil over shock you will probably find the front a little stiffer than before but definitively will reduce nose dive

Babelaas,
The Camils are worth every cent you pay, and I think for what you get a real bargain! You will not go wrong in using them.

I am having the shocks fitted on Thursday.
I was very impressed, I phoned the Camil to ask their advice on whether I should change the rear also, but was advised that it is not necessary as the hardbody does not have any issues with the rear suspension.
It's refreshing to find a company that does not push sales, but gives good advice.
The cost for Front is R2600 & R300 fitment, I also have to have the wheel alignment reset after the shocks are fitted as the torsion bars need to be reset and the camber will change.

Marc .. hallo and congrats on a wise decision. On the 3 D21/22 based vehicles I had, ALL of them were fiotted with CAMIL.
ONE thing I learned -- That re-set of the torsion is VERY VERY moer baie importand.
Boezman only came perfect after I had the torsion bars RE-INDEXED [not just "turned up" but complewtely RE INDEXED
The only guy who ever got it right was WYNAND at SUPA QUICK [last I heard he was promoted to Supa Quick SILVERTON ..
Make sure he personally oversees that jobbi --
Oh -- if you see this before the install, give Oompie Mac's regards to Piet :-)

My dad did the rear on his 93 Hardbody and is very impressed and satisfied with the change it made to the ride. Body is now level, left to right. Also the cost is slightly more or the same as for new shocks, so do the calc's!? (no brainer)

Hi Oom Mac,
Piet told me he reccommends a guy on Voortrekker road to do the wheel alignment as they know what they are doing. I know from experience there are very few places that understand torsion bar suspension. After a long struggle, steering pulling to the left,(set twice by so called wheel alignment specialists). The problem is , you phone the guys, they say that they know what they are doing, my missus takes the bakkie in, but they just check the toe. Eventually, Auto Wiel in Centurion adjusted the castor and I have done 100K on the BFG's. It is really hard to find a good wheel alignment place.
