Template Board

Guys,
I have seen a soft type thin cardboard used to cut templates before transferring it to steel.
I have been told it is called template board but don't seem to be able to find any info on the net regarding this material.
Are there anyone on the forum that is familiar with material like this or the name of material that is thick enough to use to construct designs from before formal construction?
Thank you for any inputs.
Riaan

Riaan, it depends on what you are constructing. I find for bumpers and stuff the best is something quite stiff like normal cardboard, or even hardboard.

Used to have a roll of the stuff you describe (I think) but have no idea where it came from. However, if smallish pieces will do it might be worth asking for off-cuts and scraps at a large photographic printer's shop?
