Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

our Patrol (AGAROB) 2002 3,0 Di GRX Automatic suddenly started to go very erratic - one moment all the power is there, the next it just pwfrrrrr ... and all power is gone.. [if I switch to neutral, the engine revs fine but in drive it just crawls ... and when the revs get to 2500+ aftwer a kilometer or more - it suddenly picks up again and goes like it should.
It is life threatening to try and cross an intersection -
I took it to the aapgente - theycome up with a "inhibitor switch" on the gearbox is faulty ... but they cant find that item in the parts lists - now they want to order a "park & neutral control switch" --- takes 21 days from Japan ... none avail in SA...
There MUST be another solution - Guys, PLEASE help ???
Oh - one of its quirks - the car is going like a bat ... then we go through a bump in the road - and pfffffffwwwwrrrrrr... no power, it just idles and takes a loooooong time to get on revs again.

Frans ek het hom na jou toe verwys - seker jy sal vir hom lig op die onderwerp kan gee.

I had the same problem on my Merc a few years ago, the one connector to the alternator was shod, replaced it and problem was solved.

Thanx Jules - the old man is with DASTEK now, to receive a plug-n-play chip and hopefully the can trace the problem - I pray that it is just a loose wire or connection or like the connection to tha alt as with your Merc ...
I wil phone Albert and tell him to look at that gremlin as well.

Het netnou met n vriend van my gepraat wat dieselfde probleem gehad het ook alternator koppeling en toe is sy battery in die proses ook erg beskadig. Hoop jy kom reg
