Sloppy gear lever bush replacement

Post by ricster »

Since I've had my Patrol, I have found the gear lever a little sloppy. It also sometimes is a little difficult to get into first gear from neutral.

There is apparently a nylon bush that needs replacing. I was at Nissan in Alberton, and was impressed that they managed to find something on their computer system without the VIN no, however I have a worry its not quite the right thing. especially when they said it was only R50. I was also told that its the same bush as in a Hardbody.

When i looked at the picture on their computer system it was only showing me one bush, and I'm not sure if this is the correct on at it seems to sit on top of the bottom section of the gear lever, and I'm under the impression it should fit under the gear lever, and then this R50 bush fits on on top below the main circlip to hold everything snugly in place.

Does anyone have any idea of the part numbers or any reference to this please.
Regards
Cedric

What you search is No 16 (here in the y60 - 2.8TD. Yours should be the same.

I'm nearly shure, that this will not solve your problem. I drove some 1000 km complete without this plastic. The only problem was, the gear lever was alway shaking. There was no problem to shift the gears.

When you change it, be carefull. If the plastic falls down, you have to strip the gearbox

Vielen Dank Frank, yes this is what I was looking for. I will definitively be careful not to drop that nylon into the gearbox!!

Does anyone know a part no for this? I presume the 2.8 gearbox is different to the 4.2 diesel gearbox.
