Hi, i am looking for tie rod ends (Ball joints) for my Patrol 1999 Y61, I have tried all the local parts suppliers, they all say Nissan agents only, Nissan quoted me 3500.00 for the complete unit, tie rod and ends as they say they do not sell loose ends. Has any body managed to get aftermarket ends? if so can you help me get in contact with the supplier. :helpsign:

Tiny, does your car take the male-threaded or female-threaded tie rod ends?

If it is the male-threaded ones, I found a set at Kotwal Motor Spares in Springs. PArt no. TR5677

Jip.

The travelling it has done in those two years includes 10 days in the Kgalagadi (renowned for corrugations) and two weeks to Dwesa (whith much, much worse roads).

Managed to get ends from APEX Spares local, Partquip make, TR5677, 820.00ZAR for the set, not very happy with the ends though, can hold in one hand and push end over without any effort, had ends before where a lot more effort is required to push over, no option here than to fit or get genuine Nissan for 3500.00.

Good joints don't have to be tight, they should just not have any play in them.
