Hallo Everybody

So… here I am.

My little Patrol Story…. so far….

Every time I saw a Patrol over the last couple of years, I thought to myself…… Hm … what a good / tough looking vehicle.
Then I had a look at one a few years ago at a dealer and I was rather disappointed. This specific vehicle was not so great looking and I thought that the space inside was rather “small” considering the outside dimensions. So my Patrol Passion subsided temporarily.
Then a couple of months ago my partner dropped a comment…. Complaining that she had to drive in a friends SUV to a certain destination as her vehicle would not have been suitable for the road condition………
Thought to myself….. Bingo….
Let’s have a look for a Patrol… ...sometimes you have to have the right reasons…...
And from there on things went quicker than expected.

Had a look at a 2003 4.8 ….. but was not impressed with the overall condition
Had another look at a 2000 4.5….. same thing
Thereafter a 2001 / 4.5 at a dealer and it looked ok… well better than the previous two. After some wheeling and dealing I bought this car. And I am currently in the “bonding” period with the car….

In the meantime the car has been serviced by Graham which boosted my confidence level in the car .. Thanks Graham ! (car came without service history).

My impression of the car so far:
He / She compares very well with a “Saturn 5 Moon-rocket” in terms of size , fuel consumption and turning circle.
I enjoy the bulk and metal around me…… feels safe
I enjoy the Automatic….
Insurance premium………. GREAT !!.........
At this point of time I like the fact that the car is stock standard as this allow my partner and father to get into the car without having to use a ladder. (I have already got two of those. Too high…)
I believe that the Patrol is already (without modifications) fairly capable.
I intend to use this car as run-around as well as a touring vehicle.
I need to admit that I browsed the forum over the last two months virtually every evening and I appreciated the wealth of knowledge and advice which the forum members put in.
The Patrol is surely a good capable vehicle,…. But it is passionate people like you which enable the car to become a legend.

Standard Patrol..... very capable..... 2" lift just helps not belly flop on a big obstacle. But for touring and a bit of overlanding.... you cannot get better !!

A Patrol is like the ladies at a festive Austrian Heuriger...... good, strong and the more you go to it the more you love it....    QQQ QQQ
