Original Radio/Tape & CD shuttle

I am pulling my hair out with my CD Shuttle - it works like a charm, but every 12 - 18 months the shuttle turns into a mobile disco! All the LED's start flashing so you can't see if there's a disk in any slot, you can't see when to load a CD etc..etc. Now, when I bought the car, there was a CD stuck in the unit, and it was'nt working and the dealer I bought from, after making all sorts of promises, could not get it repaired. When I went to have my tracker installed, I met a guy who, when he saw the car, came over to chat and to inform me that he has repaired lots of the same units.

Well that was 2008; and since then, I have sent it back no less than 5 times (for the same small fault) - the problem is that he does'nt have an identical unit as a spare to rob parts from, so I would like to know if anyone still has one - either in good working order, or maybe to rob spares off so that we might be able to fix mine once and for all!

My model is a (CE058) there were other models that came out, so even if you have a diferent one thats also cool, as long as it's in good working order!

Here is a picture.

I have a unit that looks identical to your, except my CD shuttle part is loose from the tape deck part.
My CD Shuttle part of the unit gave up the ghost a few months ago.
There was a CD stuck inside and when sent off to the repair people, it came back as "un-repearable".
So I still have the tape deck part in, and a huge cavity where the CD shuttle used to be. Now I am saving up for a super duper unit to replace the whole thing.
So I am not sure what next. Either you can take my CD shuttle section of the unit and see what you can do with it, or I can take my CD shuttle part to the same guy you work with to see what he can do with it?

Let me know.
PM me if you have a plan / suggestion

I'm going to try to drop mine off tomorrow sometime - The guy's name is Andre' and calls his business "Andrin Electronics cc and operates with his son from a house on the west rand. No. 44 Finch Street, Ontdekkers Park - Tel 011 793-3594. Alex, maybe I should get yours and take it through to see whether it can be repaired (although I think he needs the whole combination as the Radio/Tape is the controlling unit) if yours is buggered but he can rob to fix mine, then sorry for you!! and lucky for me!! He does have quite a few bit and pieces lying around so it is entirely possible that he can get yours going again. Where do you stay - I am in Randburg, close to Cresta centre.

How much would you be looking for your set, Tinus?? Maybe post a pic - does it also have a Tape deck, and is it a 6 disk shuttle as well?
