Patrol - Glass Side Window (The one that does not open)

Not sure if something similar has happened to someone before.

I was driving in the Estate where I stay and someone’s Gardener was busy with a weed heater. It propelled a rock and shattered my Patrol’s window.
I was not very happy as this was on a Friday and I was leaving on holiday on the Saturday!

I got a quotation from PG Glass Centurion for R13000.00. Although I’m claiming it from my Insurance, this was just ridiculous! Atlantis Nissan (Centurion) quoted me R6175 incl. vat.

If something like this happens to someone (hopefully not), rather get the Nissan Part as it is much cheaper than PG etc. Don't know is someone can comment on a place that is even cheaper?

Glass is now fitted and looks perfect, only downfall was I had to drive with another vehicle on holiday as I could only get the glass on Tuesday.

Groete,
Johan

Good excuse to get one of the Gull-wing flap-type boxes installed? R&D down in CPT are doing them for the 'trols now. Check out their FB page.

Here you go chaps. Some notes: finishing on Patrol version does not look as polished as does on LC. Also, mismatched hinge colour points towards early prototype on the patrol.

Very practical, if a bit industrial looking.

Surely the finish depends more on the installer than the vehicle?

Why does all of them just open up - if it can open down you can use it to put your glasses and stuff on it by using it as a table.

Maybe those guys are to short and can not use it that way!
