The stress of modern civilization...

It seems my trusty Trollie is suffering from the stress of modern civilization.
Both my C-pillars (the pillars behind the back doors) are showing small cracks:

I suspect this is mainly a consequence of several bends coming together in the same place, but lots of hard work must certainly have contributed.
Any clever ideas on fixing it?

Do an axle twister and see if the cracks open or close either way. If they do, put it in an axle twister and weld and sandpaper and paint. They axle twist the other way and do the other side. My LC 70 series personnel carrier had similar cracks on the b pillar (also the last door pillar). The LC I think was vibration caused.

My Land Rover Discovery 1 started to crack in the same place essentially (on the corner fold behind the door) after we fitted rocksliders. I just drilled a small hole at either end of the crack and that stopped it from going further.

Hi Peter,
Have you done the repair. A concern would be the weight on the roof rack. I had a look at mine and no issues. Not sure but that cannot be the weakest point on the troll. I have four feet on each side supporting the roof rack so the weight is distributed over a larger area,

Not done anything yet as I would much prefer to weld it up than to drill holes, as my main concern is water getting in and causing problems further down.
I suppose the weight of the roof rack might have something to do with it, but I doubt it's the main issue.
Need to find a welding specialist...
