Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Sonot winning with Nissan. My aux fuel pump has packed up. Do I need a Nissan one? If not where and who.

On another note, I noticed the patrol smokes / steams more often than my 1600 bakkie in the mornings. Is this normal? Sometimes it will steam when the bakkie doesnt. Never on a warm engine.

In my experience, it's always the modifications that cause the problems. Nissan are crazy with their prices though, so have a look at importing one?

It would be normal for more steam, as the volume of the system is much greater.

Roy have you still got the cat on your car? I think this can give you more condensation than normal on start up???

THE PUMP: I have read [somewhere on this forum] that the matching pump is available at MIDAS etc .. fraction of dealer price. Maybe P M Kobus aka Herrie op Safari - I think he bought one for his 4,5 Patrol mr Ungili.

I run LOBO with a 320 BMW's pump and noooooooooo problem with it. .. but then, LOBO is LOBO mos ..

I was able to compare to a 4.5 LC this weekend, Patrol looks normal

I still have the CAT, I think I found the sweet spot for my car though. This last weekend went to Welgevonden, at 110 on CC (106 GPS) avgd 14.1l there and total of 14.6. I'm happy with that. 6.8km/l. Not fully laden, 3 adults 2 kids and luggage for the weekend also found it dropped gears less often at 110 vs 100.

Also making a plan with the Aux Pump. Odd that mine only lasted 180k km? I have the option of buying one second hand from an unkown mileaged Patrol for about 50-40% the OEM price...
