I worked through the usual holiday period, so my official leave only started on the 7th of January.
I started my holiday off with a trip to the Baviaans in my troll. Since almost everyone I know was already back or work or wanted to spend the last few days of their leave just chilling at home, it was a solo trip.
I left PE, went through Patensie, spent a few night on the Western side of the reserve, which I don't get to visit very often and then I travelled back through Uniondale, down through the Prince Alfred's Pass and ended off with a drive through the closed Bloukrans Pass.
Not going to write a long story, but here are some pics from the trip. Excuse the quality, all the pics were taken with my phone as I focussed on getting GoPro footage during the trip.

Re: Baviaans - January 2014
BTW, this was the first time I checked my consumption since fitting the 315/75R16 muds more than a year ago. The 4.5 struggles to turn the big tyres and it really needs some re-gearing and all along I was sure it must be sucking fuel at less than 4km/l.
During the trip I did 700km's of which 300km was on gravel with the tyres at 1 bar and mostly in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear high range. The consumption average was 5km/l for the trip, which obviously isn't that good, but less than I expected on the 35" tyres.
