Just did my first fill up. BFG Muds 285 X 75 X 16 and lifted suspension. All urban driving but not much stop start. According to GPS 5,18 km/l and odometer 4,89 km/l.

So it looks right then  Ah well, I never bought the trol for its superb fuel consumption :rolling: but for its superb comfort and off-road manners :woo:

Tested the odometer against the GPS on the open road over 50, 100 and 150 km. The odometer is under reading exactly 5,4 % so I am know averaging exactly 5,5 km/l with the big muds. Quite happy with that but will still be changing to A/T's this year as tar breaking from speed is not good. Hoping for close to the 6,5 km\l mark then.

Had to come back early from KZN as the wifes dad had a fall  But got 6.5km/L on the way down and 6.0km/L on the way up (with the off road trailer behind) drove down on cruise control and back without it (but back was a lot more up hill, or is it more economical to drive on CC???)

Ian
Now done 7000kms with my 4,8 and 6.5km/l is the average. (2005 completely standard)
I get better consumptiom without the speed control.

Another factor is the music. Eric Clapton gives better than 6.8 . ACDC and Metallica worse than 5 .......

The only problem with Speedocruise like traction control is that it can not anticipate what is ahead. Driving normally you would increase speed and get some momentum before a long hill. Speedocruise waits for the hill and floors it after losing momentum.

The other thing to consider with Speedocruise is losing concentration on a long boring drive.
