Power Steering Fluid

Hey guys, was checking all fluid levels on Sunday evening, and noticed that my Power Steering Fluid reservoir showed no oil on the dipstick when cold. Popped over to Midas today to pick up a bottle, but the guys wanted to know which one I wanted??? They seem to go by colour so I left it and rather decided to check with "the boffins" what the correct fluid is, and if places like Midas sell the right quality stuff? Anyone know what to use - (3.0 TDI Manual).
Thanks.

Tony - I had Agarob's steering fluid drained and put in new -- but you use nortmal ATF [automatic transmission fluid] The Castrol I put in was reddish.
On the lid should be the specs of which ATF is advised by the manufacturer -- get the ATF nearest that spec?

Thanks Oom, I also seem to remember mine being a reddish colour.

I can't remember 100%, and the info is at home now, but it is not the normal ATF, it is a higher-spec ATF. I think it is GL2, but am not sure...

Guys,
The manual suggest DEXTRON III ATF.
I bought Castrol from Midas.
Hope this helps.

I found it in the manual this morning - listed as DEXTRON III ATF. Bought something called Transmax Dex III ATF at midas today and the colour is the same. Does this sound like the right one?

Hi guys,
Need to top up my PSF (Patrol 3.0Di). Manual recommends NISSAN PSF or Dexron VI - Anybody know where I can get Dexron VI? Seem to only find II and III available.
Thanks in advance.
