GQ without clutch

Tuesday morning Debbie arrived home from dropping the kids at school and phone me to say the Patrol's clutch is gone and she can get it in gear.
Got up from bed with the flu, put the car in LR, start without clutch and pulled into the yard.
Check the mastercylinder fluid level - no breakfluid
Look under the car and see brakefluid over the exhaust.

I had 'n new system installed two weeks ago and they did not install a heatshield above the new exhuast.
Seems the slavecylinder overheated and started P1ssing out breakfluid.

So i start removing the slavecylinder and hoses. Clean everything and cannot see any damage.
I replaced everything and started bleeding the clutch to see if I can find the leak.

Luckily it seems to be the hose connecting the master and slave cylinders.
Off to Nissan to enquire about the hose. None in stock but they will order from Japan. Will take approximately 3 weeks.
Paid my R284 for the hose and checking the breakfluid (clutch fluid) level daily.

Since I have to wait for the hose and still have to use the car I though of buying some wondertape and rap it around the hose as it is leaking where the metal is crimped over the rubber and see how good the product is.

In the mean time I also will have to get a heat shield to prevent future damage.

So lets see how good this wonder tape really is.

After 5 weeks I received the requested part and installed. Oh how nice it is to drive with a fully functioning clutch again.
Nissan came to the party after me fighting with everybody in sight and telephonic reach. They contacted me every second day to give progress updates.

Nou weet ek beter
