Nissan Patrol 4x4 (Africa)

Hi guys,

I need to find myself four wheels (or rims) that are compatible with my 2012 manufactured GRX. I understand from some of the guys here that it has 17 inch wheels. The reason I want for wheels is for a trailer +2 spare wheels. That would enable me to have a total of three SP wheels between the vehicle and the trailer, all interchangeable (even if the width of the rubber is not exactly the same, provided the sidewall is pretty close). Having lost tyres a number of times out in the middle of nowhere, I really do think that this is rather more of a necessity than an option – in fact, it is more important to me than a matching track width.

What options are there out there that I could source that would be compatible with the original wheels on my vehicle?

Any input or help will be much appreciated.

Turns out Tiger Wheel can supply alloy ones rated at nearly 1000kg per wheel. Should work.

The ordinary alloy rim form TWT does not fit straight to your Patrol, they had to be machined.

Thanks Bekker. No, they won't but at least it's the same tyre size, which is a start.

Other option is to have spacers made. I have had custom units made and they work very well.

And it would only be an emergency use anyway in my case. Any chance of a picture of a spacer sometime Grant?

I can take my tyre off on the weekend and take a photo of mine that Grant organized for me

I drew this up quick in Sketchup. The OD is just a guess, as well as ID and PCD. but this can be measured easily from the hub. Unfortunately Sketchup doesn't draw curves.... so it looks like the edge is made up of straight edges.... The thickness is 6mm. You can use down to a 3mm plate if you wanted to. I wouldn't go thicker than 6mm as you will want to lengthen your studs to ensure sufficient thread inside the wheelnuts.
