Hi , I saw this add in the junkmail a fantastic bargain.
It reads
very reluctant sale by owner, very neat and clean.
Its a
GQ 1996 SGL D , with split A/C , new tyres rear.Price R 50 000.00 , hell it sounds like a great price for this vehicle, I sold mine last year a ST, same year model for R 90 000.00
Contact Details are Chris in the Midrand 071 211 6896

If anybody is going to contact this guy, inform us about the outcome.
If I had R 50k I definately would go and look.

Koos , I had a look and bought it.Didn't even argue the price !I drove it to the farm and it runs beautifull.I just need new
front brake discs , as they are ecxessively warn. Will show some foto's later. Can someone advise on aftermarket suspension.Ironmann /TJM or OME ? Which is better or moneywise better.

Congrats Raka, I am glad somebody on the forum bought it. I loved my GQ, I even like the shape and looks more than the GU, it looks the part.
Look under the post re service items and you will find the brake pads numbers, the spare parts shops dont seem to have the info.
Bon Voyage.

re. Suspension. In mine I fitted Ironman purely because its the cheapest. Did some lot of travelling in remote area on bad roads , and it suited the vehicle very well. I think you can still get it for approx R 8000.00 complete set.
The GQ tends to bottom out on its rubber stops after a few years on std. coils, they not so good. Its worth a new suspension.
