Nissan 4x4 Club - Recovery training day - 2013-04-27

Nissan 4x4 Club recovery training event to be hosted at Scorpion training track - Midrand.

Please can you add your name to the list if you would like to take part in this. We want to do a more practical training, where you will do the recovery on a one on one basis. This obviously takes time and depending on the number of vehicles, we want to try to run 2 or 3 vehicles at the same time to keep the time as short as possible. I would suggest bringing spare shorts and shoes, as it will be muddy !!! :surprised: :surprised:

Please, you MUST bring your own recovery gear !!!!.... you will be working with you, yourself and your vehicle and equipment.... just like you would if you were stuck alone in the bush!!

Guys, The basic essentials..... rated recovery points on your vehicle( You can't recover or be recovered without them)
Then rated shackles. A rated tow strap/pull rope before a rated snatch strap or snatch rope ( this is a last resort
recovery tool). Leather gloves.... sounds stupid, but can save your hands from some nasty incidents. A rope blanket
or weight to drop the rope should a failure occur. Rated safety lanyard is always a good thing to have to again
prevent damage or injury should there be a failure.

So .... bring whatever you have, then you will see what you need and what can be done with the kit you have.

Remember that these recovery training days are NOT to make anyone feel bad or ill equipped...... These days are
for you, me and the person being or doing the recovery's own safety. We have all seen the many videos on youtube
about recoveries gone wrong.... lets not be on those videos ....... At the end of the day, who wants to sit in jail for
murder due to your recovery going wrong !!!!

This is the HARSH reality!!!!!

I will be antending if allowed, but without the Patrol if possible, I have "lost" my rear lights as well as brake lights for some reason so will have to get it looked at first before I can travel with the Troll.
