Airvent problem after dash replacement

My Patrol's dashboard started developing bubbles over the December holidays.
Nissan in Centurion was most helpful and arranged for a replacement at 50% of cost. This was done in February.
Last Saturday evening I had to set the aircon to de-fog the windscreen. This function has not been used before, after the dash was replaced.
Now the aircon vents appears "stuck". Everything appears to work fine, except, no matter how one sets it, no air comes from the "main" vents in the middle and on the sides of the dashboard, it all seems to be directed to the defogging vents underneath the windscreen.
I can only speculate that it has something to do with the dash replacement.
Any ideas? I hope there is a solution other than opening up everything again.
